Um...Hello?

So, today at work the fire alarm went off. Fire department came soon after with 3 engines. I guess something went wrong in the boiler room, but being outside, I could smell smoke. Everything ended up being fine but holy crap people. I can't believe how stupid people can be.

I know that we are used to fire drills but it took about 7-8 minutes after I rushed out of the building, until people really start filing out of the building. Um, 7-8 minutes? Has anyone really ever seen a fire move THAT slowly? I was pretty shocked. Although, I did smell smoke while in the building but still, c'mon people.

My favorite line of the afternoon -
One of the firemen commented that some guy was upset because he really wanted to get back in there to get to work.

Ahem dude, there's THREE fire engines here, it's not a joke.

Don't be a stupid person, if there's a fire drill in your building, fake or real, GET OUT OF THERE AS FAST AS YOU CAN.

Well I have to admit that at the airport (downstairs on the ramp NOT upstairs with the passengers) we don't even flinch when the fire alarm goes off we just wait for the airport fire dept. to show up and turn it off and hope they are the handsome ones.....LOL. Guess all the safety we follow around the planes does not carry into the building, go figure.

I'm a blog-aholic, too! I've found that it's the best way for me to scrapbook and journal w/o having to scrapbook or journal--neither of which I have the time nor patience for! I'll have to add you to my list so I can keep track of ya--oh, wait, you live down the street. :)
