Tuesday's Totally Useful Information

Tuesday's Totally Useful Information: Budgeting

Do you have automatic payments coming out of your bank account? Do you know that most banks charge 20-30 dollars in overcharge fees for EVERY SINGLE transaction that exceeds the money in your account? Banks also charge money by day for each day you do not add money to your account. (Yes, unfortunately I had to learn this the hard way, because I wasn't aware of the timing of my bills.)
Do you know when your bills come out of your bank account or how many are actually coming out? Take a minute and go back through your online banking and take a look at what dates your bills come out; like the electric bill and the phone bill etc. Write down these dates and put the information in a safe place and also a place that you'll remember so that you can reference this when you do a budget. When you already know what day something will come out, you can always make sure there will be enough money in your account to cover the bill and also when you go to do your budget, you have a date to search for an amount, not just a whole month of expenses to look for.

Happy TTUI!
