Let's kick this off at the unofficial beginning of summer, Labor Day.
Boston received his mission call! Vanuatu Port Vila mission! We were are like, huh?! Where?! It's a group of islands off the coast of Australia.
Our friends, the Dunham's, introduced me to Taggart's Grill and we've gone up a few times together. This day in particular, she woke up and ran a 1/2 marathon. Without training. So, this is how she ended up.
Mr. Peacock romes the grounds at Taggart's.
Summer's allow us a lot of free time that we need to fill up. We sat down at the beginning of the summer and came up with a list of things that we could do for fun and for service.
This was an activity that was pretty fun! We organized a chalk-drawing contest and food drive. I spoke to a few different companies around the area and got some free prizes to give away. Turned out a lot better than expected.
Look at the food donations we were able to get our hands on! We took them to the Jesus Saves place in Ogden. They were very shocked that we didn't want a receipt for our donation. We even got a monetary donation to give to them.
Hiking is fun. Meeting up with old friends is fun too!
We hiked as a family while Ellyse was away at girl's camp.
Butterflies were the highlight of this hike. It wasn't very impressive. Boo!
Getting up is hard to do.
Reorganized the shelves in our living room. Finally got the old wallpaper residue off. Only took me 10 1/2 years to take action.
I started collecting salt and pepper shakers a while back. They're functional and so cute all at the same time.
Lagoon! We got season passes this year and got a lot of use out of them.
Lagoon-a-beach with my Allie.
Summer evenings at 'grandma' Read's.
I begged the leaders at girl's camp for some photo's of my Lesee Lou and finally got some. It's crazy how weird it felt without her that week.
Cousin sleepover's happened quite a bit too this summer.
This is so out of sequence but, whatever. This was Taylor's graduation party. So cute, right?!
Another activity we tried this summer was dying Allie's hair with Kool-Aid. It was crazy bright the first day and then basically washed out in a week or so. I had soo many people tell me that the Kool-Aid NEVER came out of thier kids hair. I was a little worried but figured we could always cut her hair if need be.
Found this at the ward Jason grew up in. Way to go daddy and Lance.
Loosing teeth is a profitable business.
Ellyse turned into a teenager this summer. Pretty surreal. There should be a whole post on her birthday on this blog somewhere.
Cherry Hill with cousins! We love our Cherry Hill days!!
4th of July parade. We made it there just in time for it to end pretty much. They must have changed the time this year.
I entered a coloring contest to win a free Minky Couture blanket but unfortunately, didn't win anything! I spent about 8 hours on this bad boy. For nothing. Except coloring.
Little miss was asking a bunch of questions about whether or not things were blurry far away for us so we had her checked and sure enough, she needed some glasses. Doesn't she look darling though?!
We were blessed to be able to get to go to Disneyland this summer. There's a whole post about that too. Here's a fav pic from the trip.
We ended the summer up at Solitude. There should be a post forthcoming on this as well.
Was a really nice summer! Truly. One of the best!
