Remember how I said January wasn't good month for us? Yep.

Sunday night, Brent, Diane, and us were in our van and we were traveling home from a birthday party in Pleasant View. We were on the freeway heading south around the 21st street exit. We're not exactly sure what happened but as J was changing lanes he hit some slush that made his lose a little bit of control. We were trying to get around a semi and we think the air current + slippery conditions + losing control and overcorrecting resulted in the following pictures. J overcorrected and hit the left guard rail with the front of the car and that in turn pushed us backwards across all three lanes of traffic. We were luckily stopped by the other guard rail on the right side of the freeway. We sustained just bumps and bruises is all but I'm hear today to tell you that we had guardian angels with us that night because onlookers stopped to tell us what happened and they said that as we were going across the last lane of traffic, we were barely missed by a Ford Explorer. If we would have been T-boned, I'm almost positive that we would have rolled and who knows who would have been seriously hurt or killed. J and A and I were all on the drivers side of the vehicle so it could have been any of us. It was one of the scariest moments in all of our lives, I'm guessing. We're all extremely grateful for our lives that were protected and amazed that the van only sustained the bumps that it did and that we were able to drive it home, slowly, but still.

I know that Heavenly Father had sent guardian angel(s) to us that night. I know that everything happens for a reason and I can't be more grateful that none of us were killed. I know that Heavenly Father lives and He loves us and He is ultimately in charge of what goes on down here. I also was able to get a closer feel as to how close He is to us. I felt the presence of an angel with us all day Sunday and I know that He or She was there to help us be safe. The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints is true and this has only strengthened my testimony of a living, caring, loving Heavenly Father that cares for us deeply. I love you all.

How boring is my blog?

I haven't really stopped and made time to blog a lot lately. It's been a wild month around our house. We've had a lot of not so fun things happen to us lately and that's no fun to read about plus, with all the yucky things, my times been taken other places. I hope that you all are having a nicer month than we are. I do have a funny family quote to share to brighten your day however. Behold,

At a Family Home Evening we shared a story with E about how we'd lost a check once and prayed to our Heavenly Father to help us find it because it was an important check. We shared that we were able to find it with His help and I told her that she could pray too and that He would help her also.

Later on in the evening, E and A were playing in E's room and E's looking for a book in her cupboard that has books and shoes in it. I'm in the other room just sort of hanging out and all the sudden I hear her say something similiar to this:

Heavenly Father, thank you for this day, thank you for my purple sandal, please help me to find my purple sandal and if you have it... I'd like it back.

I had to muffle the laughter that protruded out of my mouth when I heard it because it was so innocent and sweet that I didn't want her think it was wrong to ask. Kids are so cute sometimes!

Hopefully January will start to look up from here. Have a good one!
