Happy Halloween.

Do you see anything unusual?

I really quite enjoy this holiday. We've done some really fun things this week and we have fun things to come. Last night, in particular, we got to have some old chum's come over and watch Young Frankshtein. I'd never seen it before and I was actually quite impressed. It's pretty entertaining and pretty funny too. I'd recommend it if you haven't taken the time to watch it yet. Igor's my favorite character in the movie.

I also think it's fun to search the web for fun ghost pictures and fun Halloween articles. I thought I'd share a few of the ones that I found.

Tonight we get to go eat dinner in a pumpkin with the Woods and see Gpa Brent's Spectuacular costume. He goes ALL OUT each year and he will not give anyone ONE CLUE as to what he will be, we all gather round and wait for the unveiling on All Hallow's Eve and then he himself (usually never speaks either, once in costume) goes around and gives the neighbor's a real trick for his treats. I've heard that Uncle Lance's costume's going to be pretty scary too. We'll have to wait and see I guess. We get to take the girls trick or treating too and see some of our long lost friends around J's old neighborhood. Ellyse is going to be a Barbie Princess and Allie will be a little Leopard. Jason's going as nurse Joker from the Dark Knight and who knows if I'll find anything to slap on at the last minute. I'll post pictures later.

If you're a slacker like me, here's some ideas for your costumes according to your sign. Click Here to Read.

OOOOhhh...Happy Halloween!!!

Funny Family Quote time again!

So, Ellyse LOVES to sing the songs that she knows, repeatedly. It's bittersweet that our ward is blessed with a wonderful singing time leader because Ellyse learns these songs so easily with her. These songs are the ones that continually get hashed out in the back seat of our cars over and over again as we drive around. (I never thought I'd be sick of "We thank Thee O God for a prophet!")

An EXTREMELY popular song that she remembers A LOT is "I am a child of God." And I'm pretty sure these are the correct lyrics..
1. I am a child of God.
2. And He has sent me Here.
3. Has given me an Earthly home.
4. With parents kind and dear. (How many of you parents think this is correct?)
5. Lead me, guide me, walk beside me,
6. Help me find the way,
7. Teach me all that I must do, to live with Him someday.
2nd verse - in place of 2-4
2. And so my needs are great.
3. Help me to understand His words
4. Before it grows too late.
5. Lead me...

So, our ward's working on the second verse a little and this is Ellyse's version of the 2nd verse

Lines 1-2
3. Before my knees are gray
4. And so we are luuuccckkkkee ee ee
5. To understand his words
or ANYTHING really, that comes to her mind.

I wish way too many times that I carried around a tape recorder constantly.

Tuesday's Totally Useful Information

Tuesday's Totally Useful Information: Budgeting

Do you have automatic payments coming out of your bank account? Do you know that most banks charge 20-30 dollars in overcharge fees for EVERY SINGLE transaction that exceeds the money in your account? Banks also charge money by day for each day you do not add money to your account. (Yes, unfortunately I had to learn this the hard way, because I wasn't aware of the timing of my bills.)
Do you know when your bills come out of your bank account or how many are actually coming out? Take a minute and go back through your online banking and take a look at what dates your bills come out; like the electric bill and the phone bill etc. Write down these dates and put the information in a safe place and also a place that you'll remember so that you can reference this when you do a budget. When you already know what day something will come out, you can always make sure there will be enough money in your account to cover the bill and also when you go to do your budget, you have a date to search for an amount, not just a whole month of expenses to look for.

Pet peeves

Holy Crap People! Today, I've been the victim of yet another lie and I'm getting sick of it. People, if you like to lie, then stay the crap away from me. It get's to me so much! I understand when people make mistakes but to flat out lie or not tell me the whole truth, URG! C'mon

Had to vent to someone, rather, something Internet. Because my best girl friend's on vacation and so is my mom and those are two of my most favorite people to vent too.

Tuesday's Belated Totally Useful Information

Remember when I said life was crazy? Yeh, that's the reason there's no TTUI. I don't even know if anyone even reads this anyway so I'm not too worried about it.

Anyway, last night I got up enought guff to finally go and get Ellyse's 4 year old pic's and Allie's 18 month pic.'s and Christmas pic.'s of the girls at Target. Yes, I go to Target because their prices are unbeatable and their pictures are pretty good quality. But, as it took me yet another hour before we actually got in, I thought I'd give a little advice for anyone thinking about stopping in and getting pictures taken there. Because anyone going there needs as much help as possible.
Tuesday's Belated Totally Useful Information: Target Photo Studio Tips

1. They're NEVER on time! Ever.

2. If you decide to take the time and effort to "make an appointment" don't worry because it means CRAP! They accept walk-in appoitments and so even if you make an appointment for say 3 PM, and someone walks in at 2:55 and you're not there, you'll have to wait for the 2:55 people to finish first.

3. They have this outragously riduculous protocol of ONLY allowing 20 minutes for an appointment, even if you have more than one person in the sitting. Even if there's 6 people in your shoot, taking individual pictures, they think that it's only going to take 20 minutes.

4. They also must have some sort of liking with the words "twenty minutes" because every time someone asks how far behind they are, they always respond with "Oh, about 20 minutes." Last night, after I'd already waited about 40-50 minutes, another lady came in with a beautiful young girl all dressed up to get her picture taken and the employee actually said.."We're running about 25 minutes behind, oh, I mean 20 minutes behind." Seriously people, learn not to tell lies and just be honest with your clients! Does anyone else out there loath being lied to like I do?

5. ALWAYS ask for a free sheet of portraits if they make you wait, which they always will. You shouldn't have to wait when you make an appointment. That's the WHOLE reason you make an appointment.

So, in conclusion I've decided that since I've yet to find a better place or a cheaper place or even closer in price place even, I'll be frequenting their establishment again. Next time around however, I'm making an appointment and then when my time for my appointment comes, I'll only call in and see how far behind they are (20 minutes) then I will double the time and THAT'S when my appointment really will be.

Happy TTUI!

Frightmares 2008

After paying the ridiculous price of parking at Lagoon on Friday night I had 2 dollars left from the ten dollar bill we used and so I put the money in my pocket. Later on while freezing our butts off and waiting in the HOUR long line to get into the haunted house this ensued:
Jas: Do you want some hot chocolate?
Me: Yeh.
He starts to leave the line we're currently in and I yell
Me: Jas!
Jas: yeh.
Me: Here, use this (hand him the extra 2 dollars) then use the debit card for the rest.
Jas: They're not that smart here.

Even though we froze and the lines and number of people there were amazing, it still was a fun night out with my man. Plus, we got to cuddle to keep each other warm in the lines...always fun!! oh yeh, and it's his birthday today. Since, he's too good to read my blog, he won't notice that I'm not going to get all mushy and senstive about how much I love that kid. Happy birthday babe!

Tuesday's Totally Useful Information

So sorry Tuesday's totally useful information is the only posts I've been making lately. Life's getting nuts.

Today's Totally Useful Information is: A Gallon Ziploc bag trick/tip.

If you're ever looking for a way to pipe frosting through something but don't have the right tools to do it, put your frosting in a ziploc baggie and snip a teeny tiny hole in one of the bottom corners and pipe through that corner. You might even try spraying the baggie beforehand with pam to help the frosting slide through a little easier.

Also, another good tip for a ziplock baggie is to keep one in your diaper bag. When you'd rather not lie your baby's bare bottom on whatever germ ridden surface available and you don't have a changing pad on hand, just cut open a gallon sized ziplock baggie along both of the sides and leave the bottom in tack and it will be large enough to lay your baby down to change it's diaper. Also, if you never use it as a changing pad, it's always handy for a stinky diaper holder if you're not in a convenient place to drop a stinky diaper. Just put it in the bag until you can get to a more appropriate place to drop it.

Happy TTUI!

Seasonal Denial

Today I heard it. I heard the phrase above that made so much sense to me. I have been in seasonal denial before but just didn't know that there was a specific name for it. Doesn't it make you feel good when you hear of something like this and it gives you hope that you're not the only one out there feeling the way you feel? ESPECIALLY WHEN IT SNOWS 10 INCHES ON OCTOBER 12!!

Tuesday's Totally Useful Information

Today's totally useful information: Soap Tip

Don't you hate it when you're in the shower and you reach for the soap just to find out that it is almost or all gone? Then you think to yourself, "Man! Now I've got to get out of the shower, dripping wet, and try to open a flimsy box of soap with wet fingers?" Well, I hate that, so I came up with the brilliant idea to open up all the soap boxes BEFORE you get in the shower, rather, right as you get your package of soap home from the store. After purchasing your soap, open up all the boxes and get yourself an open basket or container of some sort and leave them all in there. That way, all you have to do when the soap is low or gone is step out of the shower or have someone hand you an already prepared bar of soap and you're good to go!

The benefits are great for the little amount of time it takes to complete.

Benefit #1. You don't have to worry about opening a flimsy box of soap while in the midst of a shower.

Benefit #2. Your cabinet or closet that you store your open soap container filled with soap smells like the flavor of soap you choose. And....

Benefit #3. Your soap will last longer too. Haven't you ever noticed that the box that the soap comes in is really damp? Well, they do that for a reason, to keep the soap moist. When the soap is moist, it takes less time to disintegrate so, you end up buying soap more quickly than you need too. Out in the open air, your soap will dry out and last much longer.

So, there you go. Happy TTUI!

p.s. I learned the first part of Michael Jackson's "Thriller" and am ready to teach it so come and learn it! It'll be fun!

I feel jipped!

So, last Thursday evening Ugly Betty premiered and I happened to be sick so I had even more of an excuse to waste the night away in front of the tube. I was excited for this season to begin because Betty had a big decision to make between two beaus and Daniel was kicked out of his job by the caniving Willimina. They left off on those two cliffhanger's last season. My anticipation level for this premier was high and yet after it was over I was more excited to see the "Grey's" premiere than Betty. I must say it left much to be desired. I hope that the season picks up and it goes well from here on out. I think that they keep hashing the same issues over and over and it never really goes anywhere but back to the same old stuff, different situations. It's a shame. I'll give them the benefit of the doubt for a while but I may have more free time come Thursday evenings if things don't start looking up.

I stole this from another blog but it's so worth it! If you read it, you'll be inspired.

By Kent Nerburn:

Twenty years ago, I drove a cab for a living. One time I arrived in the middle of the night for a pick up at a building that was dark except for a single light in a ground floor window. Under these circumstances, many drivers would just honk once or twice, wait a minute, then drive away. But I had seen too many impoverished people who depended on taxis as their only means of transportation. Unless a situation smelled of danger, I always went to the door. This passenger might be someone who needs my assistance, I reasoned to myself.
