5,6,7,8

So, last night I taught my first couple of ballet classes at Studio 1 in Sunset. Cool! A little nervewrecking but, cool. It was more of an audition to teach than just teaching and I think I'm in but, I need to work with them as far as the schedule goes and all but, cool huh?! Yep.

I got highlights in my hair. They're a little too tiger-striped for me but, I think it's kind of a fun change for summer.

Memorial day was good. We went to the graves and then got to go see Indiana Jones. It was eh...okay. A little over-the-top for me. Nice day to be with family.

What do you want to be when you grow up?

Remember hearing this? I recently mentioned something about my life list and I thought it'd be fun to actually write it down.
Here are some things I'd like to accomplish before I kick the bucket.
*Actually fly a plane (take off, hold steady, and land it)
*Be a dance teacher - I'm achieving this soon. Hopefully, for more than just one class.
*See our girls get baptized, and go through the temple; and if it's in the cards, seeing them get married. Of course, this includes seeing them being happily married and having grandchildren.
*Continue to have a fun, loving, challenging, and wonderful marriage till our death beds and beyond. Although, I could drop the challenging part after death.

Those things are really the only things, I can think of right now, I would regret not doing and not having seen done by the time I die. But, if I could arrange it...
*I'd honestly love to write, I just know that my motivation is limited and my talent is well, not as good as it could be. I just find such a release, escape, and joy in writing and have enjoyed keeping a journal about every day for the last 13 years or so. I always enjoyed English in school. Then someone HAD read what I wrote.
*Okay, I have a confession. I think I'd like to be famous(for something good)for a second. I think this is all glamorized by all the TV I watch and magazines I read; and the fact that most famous people are rich. Who wouldn't want to be rich? Unfortunately, for some insane reason I tend to like the spotlight. I only like it for a minute though and I feel for those who actually have to live their lives in hiding but, it might be fun to experience it for a second.
*I've often dreamt of owning, operating and directing a dance studio with a rockin sound system (courtesy of my brother)and an amazing stage included alongside the studio. Money, fear of failure, time, and just plain laziness keep this dream just a dream. How awesome would that be though?
*If I could swing it, a helicopter pilot as well. And as long as I'm dreaming, owning my own plane and/or helicopter would NOT be bad either.
I want to see your lists, as outlandish as they may seem..Daren, Darby, Melissa, Erin, Dallin, Sarah, Carly, and Natalie. Email me or publish them if you dare.

Ramblings of a 3 year old

"Mom, I'm really tired, I need some milk"
We go get the milk. She informs me that the milk bottle in the fridge is not hers, it's Allie's. "Where's your bottle?"
"In the dishwasher" I find it, and fill it with milk.
"I'm getting cold in here"
"Cold?"
"Yeh, I'm getting so cold and lonely in here"..........okay then.

Then while the milk was warming up..
"Mom, we don't have dragons outside our house."
"What?!"
"We don't have dragons outside our house."
"Dragons?"
"Yup"
"No, we don't have dragons outside our house"
"May be tomorrow we'll have dragons outside our house"
"...May be"

Then..
She went on to inform me about the burnt out light in the chandalier in the front room and told me how we'll have to have the boys over to fix the burnt out light. (I let her know that I could handle it) I think she truely was REALLY tired. :)

I'm a published writer!

I was enjoying a little "Real Simple" reading and I was on page 42 and little did I know that they published my answer to one of their questions. If you can, grab a copy and check out page 42. That's me. How fun.

Go Jazz!!

I think I should grab a lucky rabbit's foot or something. Sorry Jazz, but I have my doubts. I also have hope though and I certainly hope we win tonight!!

Mother's day

After the last post and reading my other friends blogs, I feel guilty for my pessimism. I had such a wonderful day yesterday and I didn't even take the time to write about it. We went up to see Dallin for the first time in a year and 1/2. She returned home from her mission Saturday and had her homecoming (yeah, I know it's not suppose to be called that anymore, so what do you call it then?) But we got to go see her and I also got to see an old neighbor from the condo days and that was super nice! Then we got to go stuff our faces with yummy homecoming food (yes, I know I'm going to hell). Later, we had my fam come over to our house for more yummy food and the Jazz game and Mother's day and chit chatting, which was all good. I was able to be with my lovely girls who acted perfectly yesterday, a gift in and of itself. My husband and kids gave me a wonderful plaque and a gift certificate to Ruby River. YUM. Can you tell I like food? I got some yummy smelling lotion and a card from my parents-in-laws and some cool shoes and a card from my parents. Since when do mom's give gifts to their children on Mother's day? I have a great family and I had a wonderful relaxing day yesterday! We even got to have yummy scones and hang out with the Wood's later that evening and swing on the neighbor's swings and cuddle with my cuddlebug, Allie. I have a great family and I had a wonderful relaxing day yesterday! Happy Mother's day to all the mother's out there. It's a hard hard wonderful thing to be a mom!

Kudos to those who know how to act like decent human beings

You know, there are times when I act up but c'mon people. We were able to get tickets to go the the playoff game on Friday (GO JAZZ!!) and there were some rude, dumb, and idiotic people that surrounded our seats. There was this one guy who kept standing up and we're up in the nose bleed seats so every time someone stands up, they're in the way of someone else's view. HE HAD THE HARDEST TIME SITTING DOWN! He kept standing up and in the weirdest moments too. I ended up yelling at him to sit down and so did some people behind us. I mean you have to realize people are behind you, don't you? And what's worse, there was a little kid sitting two rows behind him. Poor kid had to keep getting up and moving to see. That was another annoying thing, the kid kept playing in the aisles. All things considered it wasn't that bad but he was like 9 or something, aren't 9-year-olds suppose to know how to sit in an assigned seat? Then there were the people in front of us they kept turning around to watch for security because they're buddy in the kiddy corner aisle had an air horn and kept that going for a while. It's annoying to have someone that's right in front of you keep turning around; enough already, you're here to watch the game so watch the game. And to top it all off, the lovely Laker fans behind us decided to either spill or intentionally pour their beer all over our shirts that we got as a free gift. Marvelous!! People have no couth sometimes. It's a goood thing it was a good game and it's an even better thing that we won. Go Jazz!

Allie's 1st birthday party!

Here's the before pictures when Ellyse and Allie were anxiously awaiting their party guests Friday night.
This is what happens when you're trying to take pictures of the birthday girl and the 3 year old gets jealous.

The first present from gparents Egan's. She loved to play with the wheels but when gpa Boyd went to put her on it, she screamed bloody murder. :)

She was super spoiled by all her aunts and uncles and grandparents giving her all the many fun gifts she got! Thanks everybody.

The traditional eating of her first bday cake. She got it all over her hands and wouldn't do much else with it besides look at me as if begging me to clean her hands. It was cute though because when she did eat it, she said mmmm. :)
Here's her Princess crown cake that took momma about 4 days to complete. It was fun though. Happy birthday Allie babbas! Thanks to all who came and had so much fun!

A bunch of info

So, I totally spaced putting on here that Sunday was my niece's birthday. She was my very first niece. Happy belated Taylor! Sorry. Also yesterday was my brother's birthday. My brother is one of a kind. He's a loyal, devoted father and dad and friend, and an extremeley hard worker - you'd be hard pressed to find someone who works as hard as he does at everything he attempts. He's my big bro and he taught me the joys of listening to music loudly in my car. :) Happy birthday dodo!

Also, something else that is interesting is I might have a job as a dance teacher. I have always wanted to teach dance. It's one of my things on my life list. So, this makes it even more exciting to be able to say that I've done. I'm excited to give it a try and see what comes of it. It's sort of the end of the year for dance though so, it may be that I just sub for the end of this year and then start out in the fall but, I'm way excited because I think I'll be able to teach older girls which is more of my comfort zone rather than little girls.

Also, I have a bone to pick. I'm am so sick of people lying to me. It's one of my biggest pet peeves. If you aren't going to do something, DON'T TELL ME YOU ARE! I get my hopes up and then they get smashed down. I just think it's rude. Period. I've had people tell me things lately that seem like everything's just fine and then when it comes down to it, they don't pull through. So, I'm just frustrated with it. Okay, I'll get off the soapbox.
